Vice Chancellor’s Note

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh

It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to welcome you all to the official website of Zanzibar University.

I convey special greetings to our academic and administrative staff, non-degree, undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, parents and guardians, well-wishers, members of the public, and regulatory bodies.

This website presents the University’s commitment to high-quality education, relevant research, career planning, social responsibility, reflection on our history, and the continued enhancement of our institutional reputation. It also reflects our interest in an environmentally friendly campus and our values of truthfulness, hard work, professional integrity, diversity, and inclusion.

Our digital platforms respect human dignity and privacy while supporting trusted partnerships with the community. Here, visitors can find curriculum outlines, committee information, the academic almanac, and current news about staff and student activities and achievements. The website also provides communication channels and useful links for students, staff, alumni, and partners.

Recent developments in interactive and virtual education have expanded university websites into platforms for online and blended learning, complementing traditional classroom interaction. This growing digital environment requires staff development in content preparation, delivery, preservation, and innovative assessment—areas that can be strengthened through our web-based services.

Once again, I welcome you all. I encourage you to use this website regularly, keep information current, share University achievements, and contribute to enriching educational content for the benefit of our learners and community.

Warm regards,Prof. Mohammed Awadelkarim ElhusseinVice Chancellor · Zanzibar University
