About the Quality Assurance Unit

The Quality Assurance (QA) Unit of Zanzibar University is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and enhancing the quality of academic programs, teaching, research, assessment, and institutional governance.

The Unit ensures compliance with national and international quality standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making across the University.

Coordinator – Quality Assurance Unit

The Quality Assurance Unit Coordinator provides strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance systems across Zanzibar University. The Coordinator ensures that academic programs, teaching and learning processes, assessment methods, and administrative operations comply with national regulatory requirements and international quality standards.

Working closely with academic units, management, and regulatory bodies, the Coordinator promotes a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making to enhance institutional effectiveness and academic excellence.

Core Functions

Strengthening quality across academic and administrative processes

Academic Quality Monitoring

Continuous evaluation of teaching, learning, assessment methods, and curriculum delivery to ensure academic standards are met and exceeded.

Accreditation & Compliance

Coordination of accreditation processes with NACTVET, TCU, and other regulatory bodies, including documentation and compliance reporting.

Internal Audits & Reviews

Conducting internal academic and administrative audits to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Feedback & Evaluation Systems

Management of student evaluations, graduate tracer studies, stakeholder feedback, and satisfaction surveys.

Quality Policies & Frameworks

Development, implementation, and review of quality assurance policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.

Capacity Building

Training academic and administrative staff on quality standards, assessment methods, and continuous improvement practices.
